On Wednesday 15 June, Glenys Patulny and Wayne King represented the Tuggeranong Community Council at the official opening of the new Chisholm public housing complex at the corner of Goldstein and Hambridge Crescent Chisholm.
This complex is the first comprehensive, from the ground up, Public Housing Renewal Taskforce construction project delivered to Housing ACT. This housing is aimed at replacing outdated, high-density properties with new, smaller-scale quality accommodation scattered throughout Canberra.
David Collett, Coordinator of the Public Housing Renewal Taskforce spoke about the renewal program and then Minister Yvette Berry official opened the complex. The Council has found in the past David and the Taskforce open to community opinion and being prepared to modify their plans to better fit in with community ideas.
