  1. Using the latest technology, in the U.S. and Canada wood stove pollution, realistically can be reduced by 30%. Experiences in the real world are very different from the emission tests which claim to show dramatic reductions in emissions. There is a North American-wide competition underway at the moment to try design a truly low emission wood stove and I will keep Darryl Johnston appraised of the result. There is delay in awarding the prize as the task is proving difficult. It may be that the still fairly dirty wood pellets would help and the Norwegians are trying truly clean charcoal pellets.
