The Tuggeranong Community Council (TCC) is calling for nominations for the inaugural TCC Community Service Award. The Award has been established to annually recognise the contribution of Tuggeranong residents to the local community.

“We want to recognise our unsung community champions in Tuggeranong to ensure that those who make a genuine difference to the lives we live are thanked and acknowledged for their contribution,” TCC President Glenys Patulny said.

“We believe that beginning to give people recognition for their selfless contributions to the wellbeing of our community will in turn foster and encourage volunteerism and activism in the Tuggeranong Valley,” she said.

The Award will be given each year to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the Tuggeranong community and/or the broader community over several years, and their contribution has made an impact to the life, wellbeing and/or livability of the local community.

2017 will be the first year that the Community Service Award is presented in addition to the TCC School Community Service Awards presented to students at each high school and college in the Tuggeranong Valley each year. It is envisaged that in future other categories of awards may be included in the TCC Awards.
