Update: Changes to parking along Anketell Street Tuggeranong

The Economic Development Directorate wishes to advise that on-street parking along both sides of Anketell Street (opposite Bunnings) was restricted as from Monday 17 March 2014. The changes are to make way for four new intersections that will be created along Anketell Street as part of the Southquay development. Southquay Greenway is the Land Development Agency’s (LDA) mixed use development along the shores of Lake Tuggeranong. It includes potential development on both the eastern and western sides of the estate and will consist of 13 mixed use blocks with approximately 1,000 residential dwellings. Two sites (on the western side) which can accommodate approximately 300 dwellings were scheduled to be auctioned on 13 March 2014. The remaining residential and commercial development sites will be released over the next three financial years. For more information please visit www.economicdevelopment.act.gov.au.

What does that mean exactly – “restricted” – does that mean no parking? Why not just say “no parking” to make it clear as possible. Also, “both sides” – I see that cars are parking on one side of the street but not the other. Is one side okay to park on? I went to the economic development website and it says “Please refer to parking signs for details”. The parking signs on the street are covered in cloth. Does that mean it is alright to park there? Does it also mean I can park if there is no sign saying “no parking”? This all needs to be clarified asap.
