TUGGERANONG LIVEABILITY SURVEY and BRINDABELLA CANDIDATES FORUM

Our long awaited Tuggeranong Livability Survey, designed to find out what people want for Tuggeranong, is now up and running.  If you haven’t already done so, please log on to our website at www.tuggcc.com and complete the survey.  We will use the information gathered to help plan our objectives for next year.

We will also use the information gathered to help design questions to ask our candidates at the “Brindabella Candidates Forum”, which will be held on Wednesday the 14th September, 7.30pm at the Tuggeranong Arts Centre.  Please come and meet the candidates who might be representing you after the next election.

There have been two meetings of the West Tuggeranong Community Panel to discuss about the proposed development of West Greenway (originally called Thompson). The panel, chaired by Dr David Shorthouse from the ANU includes representatives from environmental groups, community and recreational organisations, the Tuggeranong Community Council and local business.  Concerns expressed included worries about: impact on river corridor, on community facilities, indigenous and heritage concerns.   At our second meeting, we heard reports in the state of the environment of the area. For more details please look at the TCC website.

Special Reminder! Our next Tuggeranong Community Council (TCC) meeting is on the 6th September at the Vikings Tuggeranong Town Centre Club. Our guest speakers for the evening will provide an update on the proposed redevelopment of East Greenway.  The TCC AGM will then follow.
