The Tuggeranong Community Council Youth Engagement Sub-committee (with the support of the TCC and Communities at Work) will be running its annual TCC Youth Engagement Forum from 12pm to 3pm on Thursday the 22nd May at Communities at Work – 245 Cowlishaw Street, Tuggeranong.
There annual Youth Engagement Forums have run since 2017. We invite two to six students from each high school and college in Tuggeranong to come and give their opinions on various topics, decided on by the committee after reviewing the annual Youth Surveys. The tables are facilitated by people from relevant services and government departments eg the Deputy Director General for City Services on the Facilities and Transport table and the Executive Group Manager Environment, Heritage and Parks on the Environment and Climate Change table.
All feedback provided from the participants will be collated and a summary report provided to all participants and participating schools. The summary will be circulated to relevant ACT Government Directorates, where applicable. The Tuggeranong Community Council will also incorporate overarching themes into submissions provided to the ACT Government and advocate on behalf of young people within the region.
