Proposed Supportive Housing Development for Chisholm

At the 3 July TCC meeting representatives of the ACT Government’s Community Services Directorate (CSD) briefed the TCC members and concerned residents over plans for a four storey housing development on the corner of Mead and Benham Streets in Chisholm. Among others things, the TCC and residents expressed their concerns over the height of the development and increased traffic flow. I still think it’s at least 1 story too tall. I hope it will be aesthetically pleasing and not like the cheap looking painted “leggo land blocks” that seem to be everywhere now. Some info on what the exterior “finish” will be like would be nice. Won’t the residents of Proctor street immediately behind it get noise from reverse cycle air conditioning units ? Visitor parking : There clearly isn’t enough and it will spill over into Mead and Benham streets. Can not some extra street parking bays be included on Mead Street by widening it so that visitors can park immediately out front safely ? Thanks.
