Community Safety and Energy Future in Focus

This month’s meeting will feature two practical presentations focused on community safety and the future of energy in the ACT.

 Community Safety Initiative – StreetBeat

Sandra Fisk from StreetBeat will present a local initiative to install publicly accessible Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) across Tuggeranong suburbs.

Delivered in partnership with St John Ambulance Australia, and supported by GoodLoop Mutual and Bendigo Canberra Region Community Bank, the program aims to improve access to life-saving equipment during cardiac emergencies.

Community input is central to this initiative. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback on where AEDs should be located to ensure they are accessible and effective.

 Energy Network Update – GN26 and EN29

TCC’s representative to the Evoenergy Consumer Reference Council will provide an update on current and future energy planning, including:

  • The Gas Network Plan 2026–31 (GN26)
  • The commencement of consultation on the Electricity Network Plan 2029–34 (EN29)

This session will outline what these plans mean for Tuggeranong residents, including potential impacts on energy use, infrastructure and costs, as well as how the community can engage in the consultation process.
