The 15 to 20,000 people who attended SouthFest were overwhelmingly enthusiastic about the day. Comments in an exit poll included: ‘exciting’; ‘awesome – please repeat;’ “it was great to see these parts (laneways and car parks) of Tuggeranong used; and “Tuggeranong residents had an opportunity to get together with the community, and learn more about each other and their town centre area.
Research has been undertaken to better determine how best to deal with algal issues in Lake Tuggeranong itself. The work at Isabella Pond, Isabella Lake and the rain gardens being build nearby will help filter water going into the lake, but what about what is already n the Lake. See
The TCC’s Youth Engagement Sub Committee is launching a survey to find out what young people want for Tuggeranong. The results of this survey will be used to decide on issues to be discussed at our next Youth Forum in March next year when representatives from all of Tuggeranong High Schools and Colleges will be invited to participate.
