At the Tuggeranong Community Council’s March Community Meeting on Tuesday 3 March 2026, residents heard from representatives of the ACT Government Climate Change and Energy Directorate about the proposed ACT Climate Change Strategy 2026–35.
The presentation outlined how the new strategy will guide the Territory’s climate action over the next decade. The session provided an overview of the strategy’s key priorities, including reducing emissions, strengthening community resilience, supporting innovation and jobs in a low-emissions economy, and preparing homes and infrastructure for the impacts of climate change.
Community members also heard about initiatives aimed at improving public and active transport, protecting the ACT’s natural environment, and ensuring that support is available for people and communities most vulnerable to climate impacts.
The meeting included an open discussion, giving Tuggeranong residents the opportunity to ask questions and share their views as part of the ACT Government’s consultation process.
