Chronicle – Mar 16

chronicleTCCLake Tuggeranong College students talking about what they want for Tuggeranong will be the first presentation at our next meeting on Tuesday 5 April. 7.30pm, at the Tuggeranong Southern Cross Club.  It will be great to hear the opinions of some of the younger members of our community and it will be the beginnings of closer relationship with the College. Minister Mick Gentleman will then talk about the new proposed suburb at Tuggeranong and then we will hear about “Menslink”.  Come and listen to these presentations and be involved in what is happening in the Tuggeranong community.

Overall a lot has happened over the last month, including the announcement of the new suburb, the release of the Calwell Master Plan and on the community side, the big Clean Up Australia Day event on the 6 March at Lake Tuggeranong.  Thanks to all the approx. 50 people who helped, including Cubs from the Sea Scouts, people from the Rowing Club as well as many individuals and families.  We collected about 60 bags of rubbish, which I think will make a positive impact on the lake surrounds. Particular thanks to Leslie McGrane (who organised all the paperwork), Bill Perry (who went around with is trailer picking up all the rubbish), Beverley and Max Flint (who organised the BBQ), the Tuggeranong Community Council who paid for the BBQ and the Southern ACT Catchment Group for supplying all equipment.

Please come and find out he latest information at out next meeting on the 5th April
