Unfortunately I was away for work and was unable to attend the meeting.
Can anyone shed some light on the discussions?
Thank you :)
There was standing room only at the forum and those who attended were unanimous in their support to retain the land and develop it as a neighbourhood park. The message was loud and clear. The TCC requested that if it is retained as a park that it be gazetted as a park so we don’t have to go through this again. It also called on residents not to walk away from the process if they fail in their bid and to remain at the negotiating table so they have some say on what, if anything is developed on that site.
afternoon folks at the TCC.
seeing as how this community victory has been run and won (some time back), when are the posters and placards going to be removed from said parkland so it can once again be a park and not dead ground with the look of a 70’s student protest?
or does the TCC expect the ACT Government to clean up the mess left by local residents?
your response and subsequent action is keenly anticipated.
Thank you for your comment. The TCC was not responsible for the posters or signs around the Chisholm Park. I believe they were erected by a group of local residents who had formed a committee to save the park from developers. However, the TCC will contact a representative of that group and make your views known.
