At the TCC Meeting (August 2nd), Ms Christie Jorgensen from Purdon Associates provided a detailed presentation and update of the building and construction plans for the new area of South Quay to members of the Council, special guests and visitors.
The West Greenway (Thompson) Community Panel Meeting was held on the 27th July, 2016. The Panel had representatives from environmental groups, community and recreational organisations, Tuggeranong Community Council and local business. The community panel was chaired by Dr David Shorthouse from the ANU.
The ACT Minister, Mr Mick Gentleman advised the meeting on the proposed new suburb of Thompson. The presentation by the Minister stated this region was a (190 hectare) site situated between the Town Centre and the Murrumbidgee River aimed at “stimulating urban renewal in the area, renewing and reinvigorating Tuggeranong”.
On behalf of the Tuggeranong Community Council, I attended on Thursday, 9th June the “Inaugural Meeting” of the Icon Water Community Consultative Forum. This has been formed re Icon Water’s commitment to “two way engagement with the community and the value of leveraging/monitoring the experience and information of forum members to the organisation.”
